International Exhibition has arrived in Yekaterinburg

            At the end of July 2010 an outstanding event took place for the organizing committee of the International Exhibition of Sculpture and Photography “In Family Unity is the Unity of the World”. Sculptures from more than forty countries around the globe came to the Ekaterinburg Art Foundation from Wuppertal (Germany). Dozens of remote countries became closer to the Urals capital on this day.

            A year’s work preceded this long-expected meeting with these artworks. Each package was opened with sincere interest and excitement.  The tremendous effect that comes from the artworks is impossible to perceive from photographs and so this personal meeting with the works aroused much positive emotion.

            Artists from all continents of Earth have portrayed a variety of sculptures devoted to the family topic. Embodied in various forms, made of different materials and techniques, all works express the warmth and love of the family, country, national culture.

            Having received the artworks, organizers have now started creating the detailed structure of the future exhibition. Further work will be carried out on a tight timetable because the grand opening of the exhibition takes place in a month. The first exhibition of the international traveling exhibition project will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk city, Russia in September 2010 within the scope of the 39^th World Chess Olympiad. Guests from one hundred and forty countries will see its sculpture and photo exhibits.

            A catalogue of the exhibition will soon be issued. For the time being artists keep sending their portraits, CVs, while designers develop the concept of the future catalogue. After the presentation of the exhibition “In Family Unity is the Unity of the World” the catalogues will be sent to all exhibiting artists.
